Well hey there beautiful Wednesday! I have a feeling it is going to be a perfect day! Why, I am not sure but I just feel it! I always get a little giddy when I am getting my hair and makeup done, as well as having a meeting with my financial advisor. Yup, you read right. Okay, there is always a little weariness when talking about money, especially when, right now, you are (barely) making ends meet and rolling any extra income back into your business. Being prepared, facing it head on, and talking about that long-term, financial goals do have a level of excitement for me. It is a motivator to keep doing what I am doing – sans credit card debt and not getting a paycheck. Things are going to change, and I just know it! Plus, who would not feel like a confident girl boss when wearing a dress from designer Celia B!
There is something about this beauty that is downright flirty, fun, colorful, out-of-the-box, and don’t you think it would look really good in the islands, or with a mariachi band? Or maybe I need to trade in my purse for some maracas. Yes, all of the above seem like a perfect fit, and a perfect distraction from the pandemic!
I was introduced to the designer, Celia B, by none other than Sassanova, and I when I saw they started carrying the line a few weeks ago, and showcased this very dress, I knew it was meant for me. Well, not exactly – although I would love to think they purchase with me in mind, ha! – but I knew I had to have it in my closet.
This Harbour Dress has so many fabulous components to it, like SHOULDER PADS! Yes, I went there first, although the bands of patter that I share, momentarily, are right up there too! Although I am not a shoulder pad gal, nor are we living in the late 1980’s, early 90’s, the “oomph” of the shoulders compliments the puffy sleeves, right down to the flared cuffs with a fabulous trim. So girly and I LOVE IT.
The full, pleated mini skirt – yes, it is short – is adorned with bands of bold and bright patterns, as well as fabric to tie at the waist. Speaking of which, while I chose to showcase the tie in the front, you can shimmy it around to the back for a completely different look! I love a fun belt since it gives the accentuates the waist and gives further dimension to the ensemble too.
A little bit about the designer (adapted and courtesy of the super cute round tag that was attached to the dress)…
“The items designed by CeliaB are made with materials, fabrics, and inspiration sourced from her travels around the world. The brand emphasizes their ‘slow fashion garment’ model by making sure each item is made with passion, fun and love, and respecting the time to handcraft such a unique piece which is meant to last a long time in your wardrobe.”
This was the first time I heard the concept of a “slow fashion garment.” There are not many companies out there whose business models reflect this approach, and I could not be even more excited to support them! Attention to detail and quality are of the utmost importance, and wearing/representing a designer who fits that bill will always be exceptional in my book!
Celia B, you have hit it out of the park!
And with a price point of $287 (for this dress in particular), I look at it as an investment in my wardrobe, and one that I will wear for years to come! Heels, sandals, maracas, or a cute clutch, the versatility is endless, and the fashion is forever!
In the words of CeliaB – “we hope you enjoy it and that it makes you feel amazing, making you shine inside-out.”
Happy Wednesday!
xoxo
