If you have not been introduced to the line of clothing by designer Amanda Uprichard then where have you been? To be fair, it was only this time, last year, that I really started gravitating towards her line. I wish I had paid attention sooner! OMG, her dresses & rompers have, totally, up’d my fashion game, for sure! Needless to say, I LOVE IT, and love feeling fabulous!
Happiest of Friday’s to you! Wow, July 17th; halfway through this crazy, Covid-19 Summer. Hey, at least we can be socially distant, and feeling fabulous, in style. That is one positive! I had a happy hour with my financial advisor two evenings ago at one of my favorite, local places in Baltimore. We sat outside, the place was packed, and we ended up talking for close to 3 hours. Yes, we chatted about finances but also life – he is a family friend – and I think feeling “normal” is what engaged us for so long. That, coupled with seeing familiar faces, was just a breath of fresh air, literally! Sitting outside was another reminder that this is life, and we live and learn through the ebbs and flows. We are walking through this pandemic one day at a time and, as a whole, we will get through this and be that much stronger!
Let’s talk about feeling fabulous in this pandemic with some of the bougie outfits I am showcasing today! Both of these items were “stay at home order” purchases, and I am thrilled they are still available for you to purchase! YES!
This “Pierre Dress” is so simple, yet so gorgeous! An oversized silhouette with a take on the peasant dress, this sophisticated, preppy look – yes, button up front with a popped collar if you wish – can be styled however you see fit! While I chose my favorite gold “Penny” Loeffler Randall’s – don’t you love a good “go-to?” – you can go even dressier with stilettos, or tailor it back with sandals or some fun sneaks like these!
With short sleeves, and a short, tiered billowing skirt, you cannot help but feel chic as all get out! I went with a different hair style for this one, and add a pop of youth and FUN with a pink bowed headband that I picked up from Matava Shoes. THIS LOOK!
Currently, you can find this dress on both the Amanda Uprichard site and, of course, at Sassanova in Baltimore where I purchased! Support small and local peeps! You will be feeling fabulous when you do!
This dress fits pretty true to size! I have a hard time, most of the time, with designer dressers for upper body or lower body. They are not designed for athletic builds, my opinion at least! I did go with my usual size of a small and it fit beautifully! Upper body was snug in the usual spots (i.e. arms), and plenty of room in the skirt given it is oversized. FYI: Since I do have more of an athletic frame, it was best to have the top as open, and unbuttoned, as I felt comfortable given that ugly pull that can sometimes happen (which is a clear sign of something being too small). Again, my thoughts only, and see what I mean in this picture?
How can I top that look? Well, I went with something completely different and, voila, I made it happen! And what I fell in love with is this “shocking pink” – yes, that is what it’s called – color! My signature, for sure!
This “Alena Romper” is another gem that is comfortable, chic, and versatile as all get out! I went ahead and paired it with gold, Jeffrey Campbell slides (love the bow but sold out – boo!) from Matava Shoes and a Lilly Pulitzer clutch (similar one found HERE). I have chatted before that this clutch gets so much damn attention from guys. Do you want to date it? Geez! I could, certainly, see this with fun heels and a dressier bag too. A completely different look!
What is deceiving is that this is a romper! From first look, I though it was a dress but the hidden shorts via a shirt overlay gives it a flirty vibe! Long, billowing sleeves and v-neck, combined with an elastic waistband, and hello Summer look! While this came out in Spring 2020, you can, easily, transition this into Fall as well.
On the Amanda Uprichard site, there are 4 TOTAL colors to choose from, while the Sassanova site, where I purchased, has 2. Regardless, you cannot go wrong with either color you choose. The mint green “Seamist” Amanda Uprichard offers is quite gorgeous, and this seasons trending color.
I did size up in this style per Sassanova’s recommendation. This runs on the smaller size and, again, trying to compensate for quadzilla too! Yes, that is important, LOL.
Okay, I am still swooning over these beauties. Go grab yourself a dress, a romper, or both – I won’t judge – and UP that fashion game today! These are 2, classic pieces that you can change up AND will have in your closet for a lifetime! For as much as I rotate through my clothing, I know these will be statement pieces.
Cheers to retail therapy on Friday, and feeling fabulous!
xoxo
