My Travel Guru Gift List for 2020

Janine-Travel

Well this year has just been a big old hot mess, and my love of travel has felt more like a big “WTF.” While I did get a 2 week St. Maarten vacation in February, and 2 long weekends in Denver a few months ago, I am still chomping at the bit. People, I have NOT been to California at ALL this year. There is just something so wrong about that statement. Ugh. And, yes, I know; we are all in this together, and I am not the only one feeling the stress. Check yourself Janine. Who is ready to get back to their travel life?

I guess I am feeling a bit melancholy – I don’t want to be, it’s the Christmas season – but in a couple weeks, my norm would have been jet setting off to Santa Monica to spend a handful of days in my happy place, and celebrating the BIG 35. When did I get so old? Please, tell me!

Although I know I made the right decision, it still f-ing sucks. That must be the trending phrase today; I had the very conversation with my dentist about his son now being home for the remainder of his Freshman year in college. Now, that sucks!

More positive vibes people! Now, let’s talk about FUN – gifts! Yes, it seems materialistic but, this year, more than ever, I think we need to open some pretty packages and receive the thoughtfulness from those around us. In keeping with the travel theme, I wanted to share all of my go-to gifts for the travel lover in your life! From items to use while en route to your destination, and those once you have arrived, I am SO EXCITED to share with you my favorites! Don’t worry, not all of them are girlie! Ha!

P.S. If you want to check out more of my “A-List” gifts, take a peek HERE to get the 411, and on my Instagram & Facebook page too!

Alright, let’s do this!

xoxo

Lole “Lily” Bag: This has been my travel game changer, and it is an absolute MUST for all of the jet setting aficionados, as well as active enthusiasts, in your life.

With two options from which to carry – shoulder or backpack – it has compartments for pretty much EVERYTHING (i.e. laptop, yoga mat, cosmetics, your smart phone, etc.)! Since I do use this for travel purposes, I love its durability, can be washed easily, and it fits under seats pretty easily – whether you are traveling by plane, train, or automobile!

The bag comes in black, like I show HERE, and in yellow, although the latter is the only option right now. Regardless, this bag will be coveted for that person on your list who wants chic & organization when on the go – to the gym or vacation!

Beats Earphones: I was given these as a gift a couple Christmas’s ago, and I have LOVED them for when I am 30,000 feet. I don’t wear them a lot outside of traveling – I know the wireless buds are very popular (especially for working out) – but they are comfortable, can lay around your neck in between Netflix watching, and are an easy fit inside your carry on!

Oliver Thomas “Trainwreck”Train Case: This was a new addition to my travel luggage this year and it has NOT disappointed. While I loved my other train case, I did not love how it took up so much space, and it was a PIA when it came to being flexible/fit into awkward sections of my suitcase. These are been SO MUCH FUN because it holds a LOT, fits in all the right places, foldable, and comes in funky colors (I have “Ice Queen”). Easy to clean and wash too! Sweet! Something else that is really cool? You can get a fun customization to make it completely yours too! AH-MAZING!

Briggs & Riley Packing Cubes: Not only am I fan of their luggage, their accessories are amazing too! As I am sure you can imagine, I am just as much of a neat freak when I pack as I am when I am home. One of my pet peeves are dirty shoes just chilling in the bottom of a suitcase. Before I purchased these packing cubes, all of my shoes would be in duster bags of some sort. Yes, judge me all you want BUT at least my shoes stayed in tact, and there was no “ick” on my clothes.

They come in a set of 3, of varying sizes, and made of a ripstop fabric that is durable, breathable, and allows for you to find exactly what you are looking for instantly! This is key if you are not able to fully unpack wherever your final destination takes you! Although, I really hope you can; living out of a suitcase is not that fun. But, for the sake of travel…

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings: Alright gals, these are PERFECT to travel with! They are comfortable, can be dressed up or down, and easily packable too! From sneakers & sweaters, to boots & blouses, you can change this look in a New York minute, and be looking super stylish all day long!
