September’s Affordable Fashion Spotlight

Greetings gorgeous from a glorious Fall morning! Nothing like the sun shining and the crisp Fall air taking centerstage. I just love it! You know what else I love? Having 2 nights in a row that I am getting a little fancy and going out. I feel like it has been while since this has happened but I had a lovely dinner with fabulous company last evening, and then a Wedding to attend later this afternoon/early evening. This is the 1st of 2 weddings in Virginia Wine Country so I am excited to check it out! Hmm, this may come 2nd to being even more excited about cutting the tags off some beautiful dresses that have been hanging in my closet! KIDDING! Speaking of fashion, and as we cruise through September, I am thinking I am going to do a monthly “spotlight” on some affordable fashion that is super cute, trending, and just fun!

Today I am sharing affordable fashion pieces from both Target and Amazon that will transition beautifully this time of year. You know, those “I cannot make up my mind” sort of days where it is warm during the day and cool at night.

Yes, that is what I am talking about! Let’s take a peek at what I found and why I love so much! Enjoy, and Happy Fall shopping!

xoxo

Affordable Fashion: Target & Amazon

P.S. In case you missed it, I shared one of my favorite pairs of joggers from Amazon last weekend on my blog. Make sure to check it out to get the scoop!

Target Piece #1: “Universal Thread” Knit Pullover in Cream

If I could recommend any piece that should be a MUST HAVE, it would be this knit pullover! It is a great transitional piece that will keep you cool, yet warm, when the sun goes down. It comes in 2 other colors but this cream just seems like the perfect canvas to pair with fun shoes, pants, jackets, wraps, etc.! It is a bit oversized but I aired on the side of caution and purchased a size small.

Target Piece #2: “A New Day” Plaid Wrap Jacket in Cream

This wrap screams Fall, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin patches, and cool evenings outside by the fire. I loved it from the moment I saw it on another influencer and knew I had to grab one for myself. While cream is predominant, the plaid is comprised of gray and an orange/rust color. I put it overtop of the sweater I showcased, above, and threw on the trendiest heels of the season – Dolce Vita’s “Paily” Slide Sandal in “Cafe.” Note: This is a one size fits all and, the last time I checked, there was another color pattern for you to choose from if preferred!

Target Piece #3: “A New Day” Women’s Ruffle Short Sleeved Linen Top

Okay, for $20, this linen ruffled top will become a go-to-statement in your wardrobe. Understated, versatile, and goes with pretty much ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! FYI: It is not long; I am 5’6″ and the bottom hits right above my hip bones. For the record, I have a fairly short torso too. True to size but fits a little snug through chest. I did, however, go with my usual size of small.

Additionally, I paired this top with two pieces from Amazon – Women’s Ruffle Hem Shorts in Rust and Women’s Crochet Cardigan in Khaki!

Honestly, this look just came together; I had been getting photos in the shorts and top but needed to run out and it was on the chillier side. I added my favorite Marc Fisher slides (in Tan Leather) right now and, voila, magic! Well, at least I thought it was magic!

Amazon Piece #1: Women’s Ruffle Hem Shorts in Rust

I think these shorts look rust in color. To be politically correct, they are labeled as “A Khaki.” I purchased a pair in green earlier in the Summer and loved them so much I wanted to snag a color that seemed appropriate for late August, September, and even October (if we have one of those “Indian Summers.”) They are perfect for those of us who have those athletic, quadzillas. They have an elastic waist, cute, flirty ruffle hem, and 2 pockets that lay fairly flat (so not super noticeable and/or give added material to the hips). They are pretty true to size. I, generally, wear a small and that is what I purchased in both colors!

Amazon Piece #2: Women’s V-Neck Roll-Up Sleeve Button Down Blouse in White

You can never go wrong with a crisp, white button down. Although I have one in my closet already, there was something about this one that just spoke to me. It has some texture so it gives what could be “blah” a little more spunk! And, if you are like me, and seem to spill everything – not matter HOW careful – having a few in your wardrobe rotation is ideal! This fits true to size too!
